Overview

The Argus 2108 CipherServer is a multiple PC Card reader/writer designed to offload cryptographic processing to achieve dramatically greater response times and enhance functionality of database management servers, firewalls, Web servers, Web browsers, and email packages. With the capacity to hold up to 8 PC Crypto Cards and manage multiple clients, the Argus 2108 CipherServer is a vital foundation for DMS, MISSI, and other FORTEZZA crypto-enabled applications. The Argus 2108 CipherServer complements Internet and Intranet applications by providing secure messaging, data protection, and user authentication. The Argus 2108 CipherServer can be populated with different cards that support different cipher suites, including FORTEZZA, DES, and RSA.

The Argus® Series of PC Card reader/writers offers superior performance and complete system support at competitive prices. Supported by an extensive array of device drivers and cryptographic libraries, all Argus Readers offer a high degree of flexibility, ease of use, and ease of installation to various government programs, including the DoD's Defense Messaging System (DMS). Multiple platforms and bus architectures including PCI, USB, and SCSI, are supported by the Argus Series to provide scalable solutions.

The Argus Series works with all certified FORTEZZA® Crypto Cards. When used with FORTEZZA Crypto Cards, the Argus Series provides enhanced security for applications including access control, secure communications, and electronic signatures. For more demanding infrastructure applications, the Argus Series is available with the Multi-Access CI Library (MACI Library) to provide concurrent server support for multiple and multi-threaded applications accessing various cryptographic devices. With multi-tasking operating systems, several applications can run concurrently while using one or multiple FORTEZZA PC Cards.

Litronic provides the DoD's DMS program continuing support and testing for all Argus products. Additionally, Litronic conducts load and compatibility testing of the Argus 2108 with CommPower's XML Portal (CP-XP).

The Argus 2108 CipherServer is desktop or RETMA rack-mountable.

The Argus 2108 does not support non-FORTEZZA PC Cards.
